Better known as a member of the Thrill Jockey-affiliated Barn Owl duo, Jon Porras will release a solo LP of dark, textural compositions through the label later this month. Entitled Light Divide, Porras’ forthcoming record is led by the mammoth “Apeiron,” a seven-minute composition which reaches depths akin to a somber Andy Stott whilst still maintaining a keen sense for the more heavenly ends of ambient production. The results make for a powerfully absorbing piece that is difficult to not lose one’s self within. Before Porras’ Light Divide album sees an official release on March 25, the multi-faceted artist has also shared a self-directed video for “Apeiron,” which can be viewed after the jump.
