B.YRSLF, an imprint we’ve catalogued extensively throughout the year, wraps up 2012 with its final release from Manchester-based newcomer Changez (a.k.a. Alex Androu). Out now, the As Above… EP features seven tracks of hard-stomping grime and techno, but “Athletics” stands out as a notable hit. The track finds the producer toggling early-’90s drum samples with that of a shotgun loading, featuring slowed-down and heartfelt R&B vocals over a pummeling bassline.
