Just before 2014 officially came to a close, Highland producer Cain turned in his second EP for the Fine Grains imprint, Savan. The seven-track record weaves a considerable amount of Indian music between its club-minded rhythmic structures, with “Vayu” serving as one result of the beatmaker’s hybrid approach. A rolling affair, the track slices an Indian vocal sample (and corresponding strings) atop a bevy of buzzing synth tones and ever-evolving percussion hits, many of which are tuned and arranged into additional melodic patterns. Serving as the second effort in a trilogy of releases which will lead up to Cain’s eventual debut LP, Savan is out now and can be streamed in full below, where a download of the burgeoning artist’s “Vayu” production can also be found.
