A massive cascade of bleeps and clicks accompany the onset of a heavy halfstep beat in this track from Lithuaninan producer 96Wrld. “Clark” arrives via Mondayjazz’s Workers #1 compilation, and sounds something like a Mario Kart adventure weaving through Moscow’s skwee-skewed beat culture, LA’s organic hip-hop undergrowth, and the grimey alleys of UK dubstep. Hyper-melodic and full of scissoring hi-hats, the beat serves a secondary role to the percolating arpeggios which rise, crumble, and reform at every angle. The Workers #1 compilation also includes tracks from DZA, Fulgeance, and OL, among others, and will be available digitally on July 2.
