Grown Folk, the collaborative project between Montreal residents Drew Kim and Brendan Neal, is a week away from releasing a 12″ via San Francisco’s Icee Hot imprint (which—again—is ran in part by XLR8R editor Shawn Reynaldo), but before “The Boat” b/w “Keep Few Near” (which also houses remixes from Gerd and Icee Hot’s own Ghosts on Tape) sees a release, the pair has let loose an unreleased teaser track of sorts. “Cordelia” finds Grown Folk proudly displaying its prowess for synth-powered, melody-flecked house, and effectively whets our appetites before the duo’s EP arrives on February 11.
