Today, the Milan-based CT-HI imprint issues its third release, a four-track collection of soul-lined productions from the label’s stable of artists. Included on the Contemporary Theories III EP is Turbojazz‘s “DAT Soul,” a jazzy, loose-shuffling house tune, which here receives a remix treatment from fellow CT-HI affiliate Parker Madicine. On his rework, the Italian producer dials back the original tune’s more soaring elements, instead focusing on the track’s lopsided bassline and gritty rhythmic textures, which serve as the base to the low-swung remix’s five-plus-minute run.
