Belgium’s Voltron has been doing his homework since last year’s Freshman EP, and has a new collection of six tracks dropping soon to show for it. The Sophomore EP features two original productions, “Play It” and “Desire,” as well as four remixes by the likes of Parisian drummer-turned-DJ Jean Nipon and Fade to Mind artist Gremino. Featured here, Nipon’s remix of “Desire” separates the light elements of Voltron’s version from the heavier components, constructing an airy ascent of dizzy synth sounds and barely there vocal samples that leads to a trembling percussive break. After the jump, you can also check out the video for Voltron’s original tune “Play It,” which revels in a nonsensical psychedelia of digital art as bright neon lights, a floating purple head, and pixelated visualizer sequences all vie for attention throughout the eye-catching visuals.
