While on a trip to New York City and far away from his native Netherlands, producer/musician SirOJ crafted “Directions” as an homage to the city that never sleeps. The tune initially samples vocal clips of soulful crooner Cody ChestnuTT before transitioning to a deep groove that maintains the addictive percussion present in the track’s opening section while simultaneously switching gears with a surprising—but tastefully simple—synth line. New York City has been the subject of many tributes over the years, but SirOJ’s offering is certainly one to remember.
