Later this month, California-based musician Giacomelli will release his latest full-length, Weather Calculator.
Giacomelli has been a highly active member in experimental music circles and featured in multiple bands in the early 2000’s, bands such as Hypoluxo, See Jams, The Strand, Destroyeur, and ASS. The most notable of his endeavors was The Ohm, an instrumental psychedelic four-piece he formed with friends James Barreto, Zachary Veltheim and Mark Miller, both of the legendary South Florida DIY-slacker-funk-party band Leak Sour.
His latest solo outing, Weather Calculator, was recorded at the Giacomelli’s home studios and follows the Loose Canons 2.0 and Opus I-IV albums with eight diverse and immersive atmospheres. Falling in line with the tradition of west-coast inspired composers exploring the inner state, Giacomelli’s Weather Calculator is a drifting journey full of sprawling analog synthscapes.
Weather Calculator can be pre-ordered over at the Bandcamp page ahead of its April 18 release date, with LP cut “Kundalini Timeshares” available as today’s XLR8R download via WeTransfer below.
