On this silky remix of “Idiot Proof,” a cut from the solid Crisis LP by Natasha Kmeto (pictured above), Canadian duo Grown Folk heaps a mass of various synth sounds onto the Portland-based artist’s dark, Italo-touched original production. The lengthy track takes its sweet time to really get going, but after building up enough steam from the slow-growing whirlwind of weightless melodies, vaporous vocal samples, and subtle thumps, “Idiot Proof (Grown Folk Remix)” launches into a full-fledged house rhythm which carries on for long enough to elicit sweaty movements from anyone within earshot of its atmospheric grooves.
