Last year a London transplant by the name of Terrell dropped a pair impressive productions via our Downloads section, first sharing the closing cut from an untitled EP for the First Second label and then offering a rolling house endeavor for download a few months later. Now, Terrell has returned to the XLR8R pages under a new guise, Maurice Puls, with “Sly Simon,” one of three tracks set to appear on a forthcoming EP from his new alias. Set to again see the producer releasing with All City offshoot First Second, the untitled record and “Sly Simon” appear to find the budding artist adding a more mechanical edge to his club constructions, as the six-minute track fits plenty of clattering sheets of metal and industrial hits between its full-bodied kicks and snares. Along with the download of “Sly Simon” below, the rest of Maurice Puls’ upcoming EP can be previewed below before its official release later this month.
