S.M.O.D. (a.k.a. Smilla & Oliver Deutschmann) “Operation”
Dark haunting techno.
Last month, Oliver Deutschmann teamed up with Smilla under the S.M.O.D. alias to release A Form Of Travel Unkown To Humans, a new EP on Taktschleife.
The EP is full of precise and varied techno, from the intricate rhythms of the opening cut, “Sticks,” to the fierce propulsion of “Cell Culture” and the closing track’s haunting atmospheres and broken beat grooves. Each cut, when played at the right time, will undoubtedly cause dancefloor lunacy.
In support of the EP, S.M.O.D. have offered up a devastating bonus track titled “Operation” as today’s XLR8R download. The track, an 11-minute exercise in dark techno, features a stomping four-four groove and weighty bassline, bone-chilling synths, and rippling textures, resulting in an early-morning club weapon.
