Gappy Ranks‘ debut single “Stinkin Rich” may have dropped back in 2009, but three years later, NYC DJ/producer Thornato (pictured above) has stepped forward to give the dancehall cut some new flavor. Thornato’s already made a name for himself as a proficient mix maestro, both solo and as part of NYC’s purveyors of Latin, Caribbean, and booty bass sounds, Cumba Mela. Here, the producer does away with the original track’s slow riddim, throwing in a bleeping-and-blooping reggaeton backbeat beneath Gappy Ranks’ drawling Patois.
