The Enchufada label’s ongoing Upper Cuts series aims to highlight burgeoning talent from the world of global club music by offering exclusive tracks up for free download on a regular basis. The latest such artist to contribute to the series is Siete Catorce, a Mexico City-based artist whose hypnotic—and appropriately titled—”Syncopate” production serves as the latest Upper Cuts single. Pieced together with a somewhat minimal arrangement, “Syncopate” focuses on a string of sharp percussion hits, which float up and down the frequency spectrum as a thumping kick drum and airy chords fill in the space behind them. An affiliate of Mexico’s NAAFI crew/collective, Siete Catorce’s new track can be grabbed below, while the most recent contributions to Enchufada’s Upper Cuts series can be streamed and downloaded here.
