One could certainly not accuse Berlin’s Project: Mooncircle imprint of taking it easy in 2014. Having added records to its catalog this year from the likes of Submerse, Memoosh (a.k.a. Memotone and Soosh), and a collaborative EP from My Panda Shall Fly & Mau’lin, among a number of other releases, the label has certainly packed in a lot of music over the past 11 months. And still, Project: Mooncircle has a few tricks left of its sleeve, with prolific UK producer Deft set to return to the label next week with the Blue Jasmine EP. Serving as the upcoming record’s closing cut, “The Night Time” is an appropriately titled production, one which folds a melancholy procession of hazy, pumping chords and long-winded bass notes in with steady layers of clattering percussion. Out on December 2, the rest of Deft’s Blue Jasmine EP can be previewed after the jump.
