UK producer Graphics caught our ears last year with his introspective and deeply danceable take on techno-infused bass music, as illustrated on the track “Fine Yarn,” which we debuted back in August. Graphics’ latest offering, “The Provoker,” is still meditatively reflective, but finds the young producer reaching a new level of immaterialness as he operates without the constraints demanded by the club-centric spectrum of dance music. A bonus track from Graphics’ recently released “There’s a Way Back” single (artwork above) on GETME!, the song’s beat stutters while chaotic percussive noises flit over background synths, a simple melody, and a vocal sample of a French child. It’s all part of a fine start to what’s looking to be a busy 2012 for the up-and-coming beatmaker, who has another EP, Mama Grizzlies, on the way later this month via Made to Play. (via FADER)
