Since its inception in July of last year, Project: Mooncircle’s and Finest Ego‘s 12″ series, Faces, has been bridging together well-known and up-and-coming artists from across the beat music spectrum and around the globe. The first installment featured Ukraine-via-Russia producer Pavel Dovgal and Filipino-Aussie producer Ta-Ku, while the second volume put the genre-bending, Tokyo-based beatsmith Daisuke Tanabe alongside LA beat scene regular Mike Gao. Now, almost a full year after inaugurating Faces, Project: Mooncircle has announced that it will put out the third chapter of this series—featuring two relative newcomers, Rain Dog and Sekuoia—on July 27. Originally from the north of England, Rain Dog relocated to London, where he established himself enough to have his track “Spatial Separations” featured on Project: Mooncircle’s 10th anniversary compilation. The producer’s sparse stylings resurface on “Think of You,” which features bright synths that continuously build as they climb over the track’s muted rhythm section.
