After taking the #1 spot in our Top 10 Downloads of March roundup, two members of the NYC-based house trio Sasha Jan Rezzie have offered up another fresh track with a new collaborative partner. Jan Woo, Rezzie Avissar (a.k.a Weird Magic) and Terekke, a friendly and respected DJ-producer who has released a bundle of music on renowned NYC-based labels such as L.I.E.S and White Material, have served up a new release under the moniker Wabi Sabi. The trio’s debut self-titled EP, Wabi Sabi Pt. 1, was released on April 19 via Avisaar’s Purple Trax imprint.
Having already thoroughly proven their worth, we jumped at the chance to offer up another download slot to Woo, Avissar, and Terekke and they have graciously given up the EP cut “Moon River Membrane” as today’s XLR8R download. Shrouded by “Terreke’s characteristic cosmic haze,” the eight-minute track’s pace emulates that of a dreamlike walk through a spiraling forest that lies above a hardwearing bedrock of bass. The tune glides and guides listeners with an unshakable, wispy, and laid-back groove that is bound to put you at ease.
