The man responsible for one of this year’s most stunning long-players (not to mention one of our favorite features and easily the longest mix of 2011), Canadian sound alchemist Tim Hecker, has announced he’ll drop a new EP on October 10 via Kranky. The nine-track Dropping Pianos EP (pictured above) is described as “sketch pieces recorded in 2010 in preparation for what would become the Ravedeath, 1972 album” and “a peek behind the curtains into [Hecker’s] working process.” You can hear one of those sketches, and check out the tracklist of Hecker’s new record, below.
