Quality mixes from LA techno staple Rolando (pictured above), burgeoning NYC talent Austin Cesear, and Brooklyn DJ duo Mister Saturday Night have surfaced online.
First, Crack Magazine has enlisted former Underground Resistance member Rolando to turn in a new mix for its ongoing series. For the occasion, the Los Angeles-based producer—who launched the Roland Rocha Records (a.k.a. R3) label earlier this year—has turned in an hour-long exercise in machine-made dance music. Rolando’s full set for Crack can be streamed and downloaded below; no tracklist has been made available for the mix.
Next, former Bubblin’ Up artist Austin Cesear has pieced together a 45-minute mix for RS94109, a San Francisco record shop the DJ/producer used to frequent during his time on the West Coast. Beginning in a swatch of ambient textures, the session soon focuses on a range of dusty dub tracks, making it a fitting soundtrack for a stoney afternoon. Cesear’s full mix can be streamed and downloaded in its entirety below.
Lastly, the latest mix to appear in FACT‘s ongoing podcast series comes courtesy of Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter (a.k.a. the resident DJs behind Brooklyn’s Mister Saturday Night parties and label). A companion piece to the pair’s Weekends and Beginnings live mix album, the hour-plus set is pulled from the same live DJ session which yielded the duo’s recent record. Presented by FACT, the jubilant recording (complete with crowd noise) can be streamed and downloaded in full below, while Mister Saturday Night’s words of wisdom for our Artist Tips feature series can be read here.
