Rising Detroit producer Jay Daniel made a name for himself with releases on Theo Parrish and Kyle Hall’s respective labels Sound Signature and Wild Oats, but now the young artist has decided to set out on his own for a new EP. Titled School Dance, the forthcoming 12″ continues in the line of crunchy, funk-influenced house that the young producer has become known for and features artwork (from Sean Linn) which resembles a school notebook doodle. The School Dance EP will inaugurate Daniel’s newly launched Watusi High label when it sees its release “soon,” though no official street date for the record has been set at this time. Until then, clips from the EP’s two tracks can be streamed below. (via Resident Advisor)
