Maya Jane Coles Readies LP as Nocturnal Sunshine, Streams Lead Single
The UK producer's debut album under the alias will arrive via her own I/AM/ME imprint in May.
Maya Jane Coles has revealed details of her debut album as Nocturnal Sunshine, her “dark and dubby, bass-driven alter ego.” The British-Japanese producer has kept the alias quiet in recent years, focusing instead on DJing and producing under her own name and piloting her I/AM/ME imprint. The upcoming LP is described as “eminently dark and—at times—menacing,” and “a heady journey steeped in dancefloor tradition… that portrays another side of an artist.” Coles’ own vocals will feature throughout, alongside Chelou and Argentinian singer Catnapp.
Before Nocturnal Sunshine arrives on May 26 via I/AM/ME, album single “Take Me There” (streaming below) sees a digital release today, with a 12″ version that includes bonus cut “Never Too Late” becoming available on Record Store Day on April 18.
