50WEAPONS Take Over Igloofest
Currently on its international farewell tour, 50WEAPONS will take over both stages at Montreal's Igloofest.
After a decade of prodigious releases, the lifespan of 50WEAPONS has expired. It’s a sad state of affairs, but this intrepid label has refused to simply fizzle out and disappear. Currently in the midst of its international farewell tour, the label has stopped by the notorious Canadian winter festival, Igloofest, for the event’s tenth anniversary.
Having been running consistently since January 14, with a deluge of memorable artists, Igloofest approaches the final days of its weeks-long celebration. On February 4, 50WEAPONS‘ Modeselektor, Sirismo, Truncate, Shed, and Benjamin Damage are set to take over both of the festivals stages the entirety of the night.
The Sapporo stage gets fired up with ace techno producer and Traktion radio show hostess CMD at 7:30pm, who’ll set the stage for the Montreal live PA debut of the super-group Siriusmodeselektor at 8:30pmāfeaturing the members of Modeselektor with label-mate Siriusmo. Next up at 9:30pm is the corrosively loopy techno of Truncate. To finish off the night, the label-founding duo returns to the stage at 10:30pm for what ought to be a dancefloor-destroying set.
Modeselektor’s long-running visual partners Pfadfinderei will also join the party for one hour at 8:30pm.
Over at the Videotron Mobile stage, inventive Berlin techno producer Shed will get the stage off to a solid start at 8pm, while Benjamin Damage is ready to wear down the soles of your winter boots from 10pm till the very end.
