Into The Valley Expands
Six new festivals are set to launch between now and 2019.
After two successful years with Into the Valley festival, those behind the annual event will launch six new festivals—one in Sweden and five internationally. Today they have revealed the first three.
Into the Valley—that for two years has attracted visitors from all around the world up to Dalhalla in Rättvik—is now moving to the sunken prison of Rummu in Estonia, just outside Tallinn. In addition to this will be Into the Factory in Nynäshamn, Sweden; and Into the Castle in Cape Town. All together, six new festivals will be established up to 2019.
Into the Valley
In a major change in development, as mentioned above, Into the Valley moves from Dalhalla (Rättvik), to Rummu in Estonia, from June 29 to July 1, 2017.
Rummu is a mythical limestone quarry and also the site of an abandoned prison. Green fields and crystal clear water enclosing a small white sand beach surround the place.
The move to Rummu stemmed partly from the fact that the festival has outgrown Dalhalla in terms of accommodation for visitors—but also because those behind the project always had the ambition for it to evolve and change.
Into the Factory
Into the Factory will take place from the August 10 to 12, 2017, just outside Stockholm, in Nynashamn.
The site is called Stora Vika, and it’s an old abandoned cement factory, close to a stream in the middle of the forest. The place offers new opportunities since it’s isolated in the middle of the wild nature, yet close to both Nynashamn and Stockholm.
Into the Castle
Into the Castle, the final announcement at this moment, will take place from 26 to 27 January, 2018 in the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town, South Africa.
The venue is an XVIIth century star fort built by the Dutch East India Company, and it’s the oldest existing colonial building in Cape Town, located right in the city.
The last three festivals will be added regularly and is tentatively planned to be implemented in Southern Europe, Asia and South America.
Early tickets will be available October 25.
