ADE Sound Lab Adds New Names to 2016 Program
Richie Hawtin, Daniel Miller and Mark Verbos join the list of speakers at this year's event.
ADE has announced some new names taking part in its Sound Lab.
ADE Sound Lab is a free program taking place on October 20- 22, which aims to cover “everything about sound,” via demonstrations, discussions, installations, workshops, and performances. It has just been announced that Richie Hawtin will give a talk about his new PLAYdifferently mixer, and run through a live demonstration of it. He is joined by M_nus contributor Matador, who will focus on the mixer’s use in the studio and live performances.
Mark Verbos is scheduled in to give a speech on instrument design, as well as Mute Records founder Daniel Miller, who will give a course on the basics of modular synths. The new names join a list of speakers that already includes Octave One, Dave Smith, Jameszoo, and Francesco Tristano.
The Amsterdam Dance Event takes place October 19 – 23. For more information head to the festival’s site. If you are heading to the Sound Lab, make sure to pick up an ADE card, which allows access to all MusicTalks and live performances.
