Among the myriad acts whose names bear the word “crystal,” these guys are worth sitting up and taking a listen to. It isn’t everyday, after all, that you hear punk music accompanied by pipe organs, which is exactly the brand of music Crystal Antlers offer to their fans.

After a couple 7″ singles, the Long Beach, CA-based band is ready to release its debut album, Tentacles, through Touch and Go on April 6 (Europe) and April 7 (North America). The 13 tracks were recorded in a single week in San Francisco, and, judging from dreary titles like “Dust” and “Vapor Trail,” lyrically deal with the idea of destruction. Or maybe they’re just the byproduct of seven sleepless days.

The band will head to Europe shortly and tour until mid-March. From there, they return Stateside for a few shows on the West Coast.
