In July, the long-running Monday night party Deep Space will be branching out from its home in NYC’s Meatpacking District and heading across the East River for a special Independence Day edition of the event in Brooklyn. Deep Space resident François K (pictured above)—the legendary DJ who helped develop the concept of the dance remix as we know it—will be headlining the party, with support from XLR8R–friendly DJs/producers King Britt and FaltyDL. The Brooklyn version of the event has been dubbed Deep Space: Mission #1, and will take place at Dekalb Market during the daylight hours of Wednesday, July 4. Deep Space also has some other heavy hitters scheduled for its traditional Monday night festivities in Manhattan, including Hotflush label boss Scuba and Brooklyn duo Sepalcure.
