What may come as a surprise to some, but is an obvious choice to others, Chicago footwork don DJ Rashad has announced the details of his upcoming Rollin EP, set to be released via Kode9‘s Hyperdub label. The four-track record—which finds the artist contributing with fellow Chicago producers DJ Manny and DJ Spinn—will follow last year’s XLR8R Pick’d TEKLIFE Vol. 1: Welcome to the Chi, continuing Rashad’s exploration of highly-polished footwork sounds while also finding the maestro delving into jungle, R&B, and Detroit techno. Around its release on March 18, Rashad will be playing out the Rollin EP—among who knows what other fast-paced, ghetto-tinged gems—during his tour of Europe and the UK.
