A staple of the Anticon label’s first generation of beatmakers, Dosh (full name Martin Dosh) will return to the imprint with the Def Kith EP, a collaborative effort alongside fellow Minneapolis producer/musician Jon Davis (a.k.a. Ghostband). Operating together simply as Dosh & Ghostband, the forthcoming three-track effort (four-track in its digital incarnation) is said to find the pair crafting its own “techno-addled, IDM-damaged brand of bass-blessed dance music.” Furthermore Def Kith‘s tracks are said to have been composed and performed live in Dosh’s basement studio, a more electronic-minded extension of the years both Dosh and Davis have reportedly spent performing together in various live ensembles.
Appearing ahead of the duo’s forthcoming EP is “False Starts,” a production powered by miniature drum-machine rhythms and flushed with tight-wound melodic content. The track can be streamed in full below before Dosh & Ghostband’s Def Kith EP sees its official release on December 2 via Anticon. In addition, the pair has a handful of upcoming live dates set for the weeks ahead, the details of which have also been included below.
