BPitch Control’s Ellen Allien takes on the latest edition of Time Out magazine and Deaf Dumb & Blind Recordings’ Other Side series, a CD/DVD trip through the hidden sights and sounds of cities around the world.

Allien first delivers an audio “tour” of her hometown, Berlin, with tracks from techno pioneers Carl Craig and Plastikman, electro-house dons Booka Shade, and some of her own work off the Orchestra of Bubbles album. The disc is accompanied by a two-hour DVD in which Allien leads us around her favorite Berlin haunts, so this is a dream-come-true release for armchair travelers who’d rather stay home listening to music than fight the airport mayhem.

Previous participants of The Other Side include Black Strobe, Damian Lazarus, and Fischerspooner. Allien’s edition will be released on April 28, 2007 and preceded by a few U.S. dates, appropriately scheduled across the pond from Berlin.
