Sara Abdel-Hamid (a.k.a Ikonika) has reworked the title track from the forthcoming Schockglatze EP, Warlord. The Berlin-stationed collaboration between producer Spänk and multimedia artists Nik Nowak and Moritz Stummexhibits influences from an eclectic mix of bass music styles, most prominently those of UK funky & garage.

Ikonika – who has amassed a loyal following through carefully crafted releases with Hyperdub and Planet Mu – is no stranger to forward-thinking compositions inspired by the structures of UK bass music. In her rework of the trio’s forthcoming title track, she utilizes an airy, frigid hook and ominous bass patterns to twist the club-ready original into a spacious track that reflects the creative affinity the trio has for her work.
