Halcyon Moves Record Store to Output NYC
The boutique record dealer announced the formation of a new vinyl-driven café inside of the club.
NYC institution Halcyon has announced that it will be launching a groundbreaking hybrid record store, coffee shop, café, and event space inside of one of the New York City most respected nightclubs, Output in New York.
This new location will be the fourth physical incarnation of halcyon over 16 years. Having recently moved to a new location this past August which they aptly named the Stellar Records Armory and Strategic Sound Center, the record shop is now packing up once again and will be moving their stockpile into an area inside one of Brooklyn’s leading dance clubs. Previously referred to as the Stilton House and often used for private events and the venues coatcheck, the record store will have two floors and a cafe area that will be open seven days a week between 12pm and 8pm.
Halcyon claims a tightly curated selection of over 5,000 titles from a wide variety of genres that both DJs and music enthusiasts can enjoy. With three listening stations and a Funktion One sound system, visitors can expect a fair share of guest DJs showing up to break the place in. The cafe will offer coffee, pastries and sandwiches during the afternoon as well as food and cocktails at night.
The shop, now located at 74 Wythe Ave (direct entrance on N 12th St), opens on February 5 at noon.
