Born and raised in Glasgow, acclaimed DJ and Numbers label co-head Jackmaster (a.k.a. Jack Revill) is the subject of a new short film which follows the selector as he retraces his musical roots in his hometown. Appearing as part of Resident Advisor‘s Origins film series, the 20-minute video charts a somewhat emotional path through Revill’s past, as he reflects on the death of his mother, how Glasgow record shop/distributor Rubadub took a young Jackmaster under their wing, and ultimately how the Scottish city shaped him both as a person and a DJ.
The full Origins mini-doc can be watched below, while Jackmaster’s recent XLR8R podcast is still available to stream and download here.
