Jealous God Set to Close
Silent Servant has revealed that Beau Wanzer and Phase Fatale will be amongst the imprint's final releases.
Silent Servant‘s Jealous God will cease operations.
Launched out of the ashes of Sandwell District back in 2013 by James Ruskin, Karl O’Connor (a.k.a. Regis) and Juan Mendez (a.k.a. Silent Servant), Jealous God has carved out a unique sound that bridges EBM, industrial and techno styles. It’s current boss Mendez has today announced that it will be terminating business; however, at this point it is without explanation why.
Along with the news, Mendez has also detailed the upcoming releases that will precede its closure: Domenico Crisci, Champagne Mirrors, Black Merlin, Phase Fatale, Broken English Club, Alessandro Adriani, Beau Wanzer, Alexey Volkov, Pye Corner Audio, and Silent Servant himself will all contribute in that order. Following on from the final records, a book will also seek to capture the label’s identity.
In addition to said plans, Mendez has curated a Jealous God showcase which will be hosted as a part of Berlin Atonal on Friday August 26, entitled ‘Optimistic Decay.’ Check out a trailer for the showcase below, with music by Champagne Mirrors.
