Kim Ann Foxman has announced the launch of Firehouse, her own label established in partnership with London-based music and arts outpost The Vinyl Factory. In a press release, the former Hercules and Love Affair member and XLR8R podcast contributor says the endeavor was inspired by a move to an old Brooklyn firehouse earlier this year, where her studio is now based. “Firehouse will be superĀ dynamic, gorgeous, and weird,” she says. “I want to represent New York, represent its flavor, and be a part of the music history that it is so abundant here.”
Foxman will inaugurate the label later this month with “It’s All About You” b/w “Steal My Secrets,” two tracks she says result from an taking a more experimental, process-oriented approach to production. “It’s All About You” b/w “Steal My Secrets” arrives on November 24, and the single’s artwork is on view below.
