Continuing the string of Halloween-themed material surfacing today, Delroy Edwards’ L.A. Club Resource label has reissued two tracks from Chicago house legend Gene Hunt. Freddy’s Dead continues a prolific year for the veteran producer, following an earlier appearance on the imprint with his Pandemonium EP. Title track “Freddy’s Dead” (which samples from the Halloween cult horror film Nightmare on Elm Street) originally appeared in 1999 on Gene Hunt Classics—the now out-of-circulation album issued by Dustraxx—and is supplemented by “Bong” on the flip, which was produced by Hunt in the early ’90s but never officially released. Out today, Freddy’s Dead is available to preview below and purchase via Gene’s Liquor, with cover art depicting Nightmare on Elm Street antagonist Freddy Krueger.
