The quietly powerful force behind the Mixpak label and many of the tunes it releases, Brooklyn producer Dre Skull has issued a new version of his XLR8R Pick’d “Loudspeaker Riddim” which features vocals from frequent collaborator Popcaan and—surprisingly enough—singer Megan James of tweelectro-pop duo Purity Ring. As Pitchfork points out, this take on Dre Skull’s riddim is called “First Time,” and will be released as a single (artwork above) in conjunction with Puma. Before it’s available to purchase on April 15, the song can be streamed in all of its auto-tuned, trance-infused glory below.
