Despite delivering our 35th most favorite track of 2013 with “Airglow Fires,” Manchester-based DJ/producer Lone (pictured above) has kept a low profile since his Galaxy Garden LP dropped nearly two years ago. With any luck, that will all change sooner than later, but in the meantime, we’ve got this new brightly hued remix that the artist born Matt Cutler shared today. The UK tunesmith turns Illum Sphere‘s textural “Embyronic” single—lifted from his recently released Ghosts of Then and Now album for Ninja Tune—into a similarly atmospheric production, albeit one that relies more on drum breaks and plinking melodic lines than shuffling percussion and buzzing synths. “Embryonic (Lone Remix)” can be heard in its entirety over on Spin, where Philip Sherburne points out that the track is currently not scheduled for a proper release.
