After sharing Mount Kimbie’s remix of “Jerk Ribs,” a tune from her forthcoming Food LP for Ninja Tune, back in January, underground pop star Kelis has just unveiled a remix of another record cut by label mate Machinedrum (a.k.a. Travis Stewart, pictured above). The unceasingly prolific artist’s version of “Runnin” takes a decisive approach, placing its stark focus on percussion as it employs a basic drum-machine pattern and loud claps. Stewart then surrounds his beats with torrents of effervescent synths and Kelis’ echoing harmonies.
