Local Talk Launches Tune Imprint With ‘Freak Tool’
Theo Walbeck will provide the label's inaugural release.
Sweedish label Local Talk—home to releases from, among others, HNNY, Lay-far, Ashley Beedle, Luke Solomon, Outboxx, and Kyodai—will launch a sister label called Tune on October 17 with the debut from Theo Walbeck.
The concept for the label is simple: “each track, or “tune,” that will be released is so good that you only need to hear it once and it will be love at first listen.” The label is proving its confidence in this statement by pressing each release to 12″ vinyl and leaving the b-side blank. “Freak Tool” will be the inaugural track, with six minutes of raw, chunky house from “a secretive alias of a well-known act, who for now is being kept anonymous.”
You can hear snippets and preorder the 12″ over at Deejay ahead of its October 17 release.
