East London producer Logos has been navigating the borders of grime and jungle for a few years now, so it’s entirely fitting that he’ll soon be releasing his debut LP, Cold Mission, via UK-centric bass outpost Keysound. Logos described the motivations behind Cold Mission, saying, “I’m interested in tracing the links between classic Metalheadz productions and early grime—especially the more angular stuff Slimzee played—but integrated into a roughly 130bpm club context.” He continued, “A lot of the album is informed by nostalgia for pirate radio grime and the sense of loss I feel for that period—2002 felt like a much simpler time.” The 11-track record contains collaborations with Keysound label heads Dusk and Blackdown, as well as tracks with Rabit and Mumdance. The hyper-intense “Wut It Do (feat. Mumdance)” can be streamed below, where Cold Mission‘s tracklist can also be found ahead of its November 18 release date.
