A staple of the Kranky label’s roster, Vancouver sound sculptor Loscil has released a new three-track EP as a means to help raise funds for his friends whose daughter was recently diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a form of bone cancer. Titled for Greta, the digital record consists of three dense, elongated compositions that dive into the sort of immaculately textured sonic atmospheres Loscil has crafted throughout his career.
