Melodies Reissues Aged In Harmony Rarities
Floating Points' label will re-release three seven-inches, including 'You're a Melody.'
Eglo sub-label Melodies is set to re-release three Aged In Harmony rarities.
Sam Shepherd (a.k.a. Floating Points) established Melodies last year as a means of reissuing his favorite old, rare records. So far, it has put out one record: Taxie’s Rock Don’t Stop.
Next up are a selection of cuts very close to Shepherd’s heart: aside from being extremely difficult to get hold of, Aged In Harmony’s underground disco cut “You’re A Melody” was the inspiration for Shepherd’s former Plastic People event. It was the work of Arnold Moore’s Detroit-based group; an act that only ever released three seven-inch records (all of which will be reissued now).
The trio of records are set for release on August 19. Pre-order them and listen to snippets over at Love Vinyl. Stream the title track below.
