Much of the music world has recently shown its support for the tragedy-stricken country of Japan with either benefit concerts, compilations, or the like. Now, we can add German house and techno hub Kompakt and its many collaborators to the list do-gooders. On Benefit Compilation for Japan (pictured above), you’ll find 34 songs handpicked by labels like Ostgut Ton, BPitch Control, Dial, Raster Noton, Comeme, and Optimo from and featuring artists like Jahcoozi, Lawrence, Efdemin, Maya Jane Coles, Cosmic Kids, Michael Mayer, and Mr. Statik, among many others. The digital release is available from online retailers like Boomkat, iTunes, Beatport, and Juno, but if you buy the music through Bandcamp or Other Music, 100% of the proceeds will go straight to the Red Cross Society of Japan. Learn more about Kompakt’s Benefit Compilation for Japan, and stream it in full, here.
