Mutek Montréal Shares Second Wave of Acts
The 17th edition of the festival will take place June 1-5.
Mutek‘s Montréal edition has released a second batch of artists, who are set to grace the five-dayer in early June this year, across the Quartier des spectacles and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal.
Mutek was launched back in 1999, and has since been bringing forward thinking music to Montréal, as well as launching similar events in Mexico City and Barcelona. For the upcoming Canadian edition, the organisers have continued to collaborated with the European Union’s SHAPE project, providing a link direct to forward-thinking European artists, including Peder Mannerfelt (a.k.a. The Subliminal Kid), Lawrence Le Doux, Lorenzo Senni, and Warp Records’ Jackson.
Other highlights include a bunch of Canadian artists—Mathew and Nathan Jonson as Midnight Operator, Guillaume Coutu-Dumont and Ernesto Ferreyra as Chic Miniature, and Magnanime— as well as the likes of Romanian star Barac, and a performance by Lee Gamble in collaboration with visual artist Dave Gaskarth.
