Brooklyn experimentalist Oneohtrix Point Never (a.k.a. Daniel Lopatin, pictured above) is set to release a split LP with similarly minded Los Angeles producer Rene Hell. The record, which drops via NNA Tapes on September 17 in the UK (American fans will have to wait a day later), will feature five tracks from each artist. Lopatin’s side, titled Music For Reliquary House, consists of reworkings of music from his audio-visual collaboration with video artist Nate Boyce, and is said to be a continuation of the themes explored on last year’s acclaimed Replica album. Meanwhile, Rene Hell’s side, In 1980 I Was A Blue Square, encompasses five pieces that juxtapose 20th-century classical music with squalls of electronic noise.
