Premiere: Hear a Driving House Cut From La Fraicheur
'Self-Fulfilling Prophecy' lands on Infiné later this week.
InFiné will release the debut LP from La Fraicheur on June 22.
The album, titled Self-Fulfilling Prophecy, continues a long-running relationship between the label and Detroit, presenting nine tracks recorded in the legendary Underground Resistance studios following an invitation from Detroit legend Mike Banks. Musically, Self-Fulfilling Prophecy finds La Fraicheur swinging confidently across a range of styles, from grandiose techno to deep electro and silky deep house, all the while managing to sound original. Using samples of speeches from the likes of the Black Panther’s Angela Davis, La Fraicheur hopes to “use moments of dancing to stimulate a bit of political awakening,” a direct reflection of her feminism and work to strengthen the place of women in electronic music.
Ahead of the release, Infiné has offered up a full stream of the album’s closing cut, “Plant 21,” available via the player below. Named after Detroit’s famous Fischer Body Plant 21, “Plant 21” was composed with a range of field recordings captured by La Fraicheur during the recording process. With its background and engrossing sound design, it’s a fitting closing track to a beautiful record.
