Premiere: Hear a Low-Slung Jazzy Beat Cut From Brawther
The French artist will drop his first studio album, 'Transient States,' later this month.

French DJ and producer Brawther will release his debut album, Transient States, on April 23.
The LP will be the inaugural release on his new label, Negentropy, which will be a home for all of Brawther’s forthcoming releases. By releasing his debut via his own label, Brawther was able to experiment freely and present a complete body of work, as he explains:
“The desire to make the album on my own label gave me the time to work towards a body of music where I could experiment with complete and utter freedom. We go through life transitioning from various states to others continually; what happens in the realm of the studio is no different and this album captures a glimpse of last year’s effort.”
Transient States follows five years worth of work on Chez Damier’s Balance Recordings, as well as EPs on Secretsundaze and Cabinet, with eight-groove-led cuts that touch on dub techno, jazz, hip-hop, broken beat, house, and electro—a standout showcase in Brawther’s typically understated style.
In support of the release, which can be pre-ordered here, Brawther has offered up a full stream of album cut “Theme From Dungeon,” available via the player below.
