Premiere: Hear a New Track from KiNK
Freerange Records celebrate 20 years with cuts from KiNK, Pittsburgh Track Authority, Kuniyuki, Soul of Hex, Jimpster, and more.
Jamie Odell (a.k.a. Jimpster) and Tom Roberts’ seminal imprint Freerange Records will celebrate 20 years in the game on June 10 with a 20-track, five-vinyl box set and a worldwide events series.
The 20 Years of Freerange 12″ box set will feature cuts from artists old and new to the label, including KiNK, Pittsburgh Track Authority, Kuniyuki, Kito Jempere, Soul of Hex, Detroit Swindle, Andre Lodemann, Manuel Tur,Milton Jackson, and more. Like the label itself, the compilation pulls from a broad range of styles, taking in shuffling house, bass-led deep house, trippy jack tracks, acid bombs, and everything in between. It’s an accomplished release and one that shows the depth of quality and sound that Freerange has bestowed on electronic music for the last 20 years.
The box set will be released on June 10 and can be preordered here, with a digital bundle set to follow on July 29. Ahead of those two dates, Freerange has offered up a full stream of KiNK’s dubby cut “Roads,” which can be heard via the player above.
