Premiere: Hear a Track from Ashworth’s Latest EP
The UK-based artist's 'Portland' EP arrive via made of CONCRETE at the start of next month.
With a label resume that includes W&O Street Tracks, Anjunadeep, Holic Trax, and Little Helpers, UK-based artist Ashworth will drop his latest on made of CONCRETE, the imprint run by Berlin-and-Dresden-based DJs fumée grise and Andreas Pionty.
Portland will be Ashworth’s debut on made of CONCRETE, presenting four tightly-wound cuts of atmospheric house and techno. Ashworth’s sound engineering background, as well as his history in composing film scores, is quite prevalent on Portland, which, although being very dancefloor focused, has a decidedly cinematic feel to it. Propped up by textured, reverberant atmospherics and hollowed-out noise, the EP is beautiful exercise in heady electronics—one that is as suited to home listening as it is on the floors of early morning warehouses.
Ahead of the April 1 release date, Ashworth and made of CONCRETE have offered up a full stream of the drony and minimalistic cut “Scatter,” which you can stream via the player above.
